Personality: Boots has a strong determined nature, and is fiercely loyal, and protective of her friends. She is generally layed-back, mild-mannered, and difficult to truly anger, however she is ferocious in a fight. Despite being an out-law Boots is very moral and honour-bound, though when it comes to what other people think she has a definite devil-may-care attitude. She can be bull-headed and stubborn when she wants, but views this as a good trait. She loves to read and draw.

Job: Comic relief. Seriously. I just copy and pasted this from the previous roleplay.

Tools/equipment: A standard Nihoto sheathed. stainless steel and made by his former master. An engraved Winchester Lever-action rifle with a shortened barrel and engravings in the wood. What do they consider their best physical characteristic and why: His eyes. They’re VERY bright blue.
The worst one? Why? His height. He hates towering over people

Most prized possession, why: His hat. He’s very attached to the hat. It’s the one gift his mother gave him before she died, saying that he’d grow into it… and he did.
Most important person in their life before story starts, why: His father. He’d never admit it, but his universe circles around his father – and trying to get away from him.
How do they spend the week just before the story starts: Drinking himself into oblivion in a tiny bar somewhere because he almost got a friend killed because he was him.

My reasoning: The longer the character sheet, the more you know about a character. The more you know about a character, the more convincingly you can play him/her. The more convincingly you can play him/her, the happier you shall be! Also, it's the little things that bring a character to life. It's not what they look like or that they had some tragic past, it's figuring out their motivations, their tiny habits, their quirks. A lot of times, I don't know anything except a vague idea until I start a character sheet. Then a character comes alive in my head!

Ah, I find I prefer making vaguer character sheets myself, as it keeps me from unintentionally limiting my character's moods based on pre-determined facts, and feels more natural. It also leaves more surprises for the reader.

Haha, well... I find that my character evolves beyond the sheets no matter what I do, but the more detailed the sheet, the stronger base my character has. I also am not tempted to use a character as a stand-in for myself, which is a cardinal sin and should never, ever, ever be done because it makes for very annoying characters known as Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. I don't know exactly how my character will react to EVERY situation, but I can assume how he would react because I've got a solid past for him. See my point? I can't limit my character's moods because he's a multifaceted character. The only way you can limit your character's moods with a sheet is to strictly stick to the sheet - which I don't.

Mr.Methodical, I made up that character name from the very top of my head. But if anything, the name Vera is in my head because I just read, And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie.
Long character sheets are very useful, but mostly to the writer. For instance, if you put that much back round into a story, the reader might fall asleep.
